Gmunden and its sports venues offer a variety of sports and events all year long.

Choose between tennis, squash, ice skating, ice hockey, basket ball, soccer, american football and many others. The concrete skate pool is THE hot spot for skaters from near and far. Ambitious bikers practise on our trial bike court in the sports centre.

Ice Rink - Winter & Summer skating

Influenced by Viennese skaters and thanks to back then frequently frozen lakes, figure skating and ice hockey have a nearly 150 year long tradition in Gmunden.

For nearly 20 years now, skaters and hockey clubs from all over the world come to Gmunden for their summer practice. The Ice Rink has proved to be an excellent venue for national and international athlets to be best prepared for the upcoming season.

The beautiful surroundings with the lake and mountains are the perfect place to combine training and holiday.

Nearby boarding schools, the Hotel Wildschuetz next to the sports centre and our athlete's apartments provide nearby accommodation for everyone.

Indoor Tennis Centre

Our completely renovated tennis centre offers four indoor tennis courts, three squash boxes, the “Babolat” Tennis School with a tennis shop as well as a restaurant with a sunny terrace.

Volksbank Arena - sports hall

The sports hall offers three individually separable fields as well as a weight room,  a ballet room, several dressing rooms, three wardrobes for coaches, two tribunes with 934 seats, a conference room, a VIP area and a removeable stage.

Catering

Our "Sportbüffet" Restaurant at the Indoor Tennis Centre offers fresh salads and home made desserts as well as little snacks for the sportspeople. Enjoy your meal or drink on the sunny terrace overlooking the outdoor tennis courts.

Our caterer at the Ice Rink buffet offers full board and special meals during your sports camp.  Most of the healthy and self-cooked meals are prepared with wholefood products.

Concerts and events

The Volksbank Arena is a popular venue for concerts of local and international artists and is also perfectly suited for family events such as the Children's Carnival Party, the Game Day, the Tanzforum Dance Shows and many more.

The MMA Fight Night and the Bike Bazar are reglular events taking place at the Ice Rink.
